Assistant Teachers ( classes IX-X/Secondary) : 23212 Posts
Assistant Teachers ( classes XI-XII/Higher Secondary) : 12514 Posts

Age Limit :

Minimum Age Limit : 21 Years
Maximum Age Limit : 40 Years
Upper age limit is however, relaxable by 5 years for Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe candidates, 3 years for Backward Class candidates and 8 years for the Physically Handicapped Candidates

Educational Qualification :

Teachers WBSSC Assistant Teachers Recruitment 2025: (Classes IX and X) : i) Graduate / Post Graduate from a recognized University with at least 50% marks in either Graduation or Post Graduation (or its equivalent) and Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) from a National Council for teacher Education recognized institution
- Or
ii) 4-years degree of B.A, Ed/B.Sc. Ed. from any National Council for Teacher Education recognized institution.
Teachers WBSSC Assistant Teachers Recruitment 2025: (Class XI and XII) : a) Post Graduate with at least 50% marks ( or its equivalent) from a recognised university and Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) from a National Council for Teacher Education recognised institution.

b) Post graduate with at least 50% marks (or its equivalent) from recognised University and B.A Ed/ B.Sc Ed. from any NCTE recognised institution.

Selection to the Post of Assistant Teachers :

Selection to the post of teachers WBSSC Assistant Teachers Recruitment 2025: for classes IX & X and XI & XII in Schools shall be made on the basis of written examination, of qualifications of the candidates, and Oral interview and lecture demonstration to be determined by the Commission in the manner specified in the rules, 2025.
- Question Paper will be set in English and Bengali. In Language papers it will be in the same language. For Sanskrit, it will be Bengali

Preparation of panel :

After the evaluation of the OMR Sheet or answer-sheet of the written examination, the Central Commission shall prepare and publish in their website details of all the candidates to be called for Interview ( Interview List) strictly in accordance with preliminary merit score category wise on the basis of the Rules, 2025
The Central Commission shall also prepare and publish in Official website (www.westbengalssc.com) merit lists of candidates prepared subject wise, medium-wise, gender-wise and category-wise on the basis of marks of Oral interview and lecture demonstration on he basis of the Rules,2025.
The Central Central Commission shall also prepare and publish in Official website (www.westbengalssc.com) merit based panels of candidates ( subject wise, medium-wise, gender-wise and category-wise) of the merit list equal to the number of the relevant vacancies and shall also papers and publish in their website a category wise waiting list of the rest of the candidates of the merit list not included in the panel on the basis of the Rules,2025
In the event of omission or error or any mistake of any nature to fil in the OMR sheet by a candidate, the OMR sheet of such candidate may not be evaluated and the application of such candidate will be liable to be rejected
There will be only one correct option, carrying one marks, out of four options provided for every question
The Central Commission shall publish such panels and waiting lists of candidates in the website of the Commission as well as at the offices of the Regional Commissions. A copy of the same will be submitted to the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education, School Education Department and the Directorate of School Education for Information.
