Age Limit WB Primary Teacher Recruitment 2025:

Minimum Age Limit : 18 Years
Maximum Age Limit : 40 Years ( as on the 1st day of January, 2025
Upper age limit is relaxable for the candidates belonging to SC,ST,OBC (A&B), PwBD (Person with Disabilities), Exempted (EC), Ex-Servicemen (ExS) and Para Teacher (PT) categories.

Scale of Pay :

As per extant rule of the Government of West Bengal in this regard.

Educational Qualification :

The candidate WB Primary Teacher Recruitment 2025: must be a citizen of India

- Higher Secondary ( or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education
- OR Higher Secondary ( or its equivalent) with at least 45% marks and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education
- OR Higher Secondary ( or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.EI.Ed)
- OR Higher Secondary ( or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (Special Education)
- OR Graduation and Two Year Diploma in Elementary Education
- Teacher eligibility Test (TET) (conducted by the West Bengal Board of Primary Education adhering to the rule and principles set by NCTE).

Medium of Instruction :

A candidate WB Primary Teacher Recruitment 2025: seeking appointment to the post of Assistant Teacher in any Primary School shall have studied and passed in the specific language as the first or second language subject at the Higher Secondary or equivalent academic level for which medium of instruction the candidate seeks for appointment.
Further, in case of Santhali as the medium of instruction, the candidate shall only be required to process proficiency of reading, writing and speaking in Santhali. Here, Santhali means Santhali in OI-Chiki Script. It shall not be obligatory for the candidates seeking appointment to the post of Assistant Teacher in Santhali medium primary schools to have passed in the Santhali as first or second language subject at the Higher Secondary or its equivalent academic level.

Selection Procedure : Selection of Assistant Teacher WB Primary Teacher Recruitment 2025: shall be made on the basis of aggregated marks obtained in the following items of evaluation out of maximum marks of 50:
